Dorit Aharonov

Aharonov is the CSO of Qedma and a computer science Professor at the Hebrew University. In her PhD she proved the quantum fault tolerance theorem, one of the main pillars of quantum computation today. Aharonov has pioneering contributions in a wide range of areas of quantum computation including quantum algorithms, quantum walks, adiabatic computation, Hamiltonian complexity, quantum cryptography and quantum verification. After completing her PhD in Computer Science and Physics at the Hebrew university, during which she received several awards including Clore and Wolf prizes, Aharonov continued to a postdoc at the institute for advanced studies (IAS) Princeton Math and at UC Berkeley Computer Science. In 2005 she was featured by Nature as one of four theoreticians making waves in their chosen field; She received the Krill prize in 2006, was awarded a 1.5M Euro ERC starting grant in 2012, and in 2014 she received the prestigious Michael Bruno. In parallel to her main role at Qedma, she continues to lead an active research group at the Hebrew University.
