Sr. Quantum Researcher (Algorithms)

About the job:

As a quantum algorithm researcher, your main role will be to develop algorithmic and error-reduction tools to help our partners and customers achieve quantum advantage for their applications. You will develop Qedma’s error reduction (mitigation and correction) methods and apply them to different use cases by both optimizing and developing new algorithms and by optimizing the error reduction methods themselves for the specific applications at hand.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing new error reduction methods (mitigation and correction) for quantum algorithms.
  • Optimizing error reduction methods for different algorithms.
  • Developing new quantum algorithms to enhance performance on real quantum hardware with error mitigation.
  • Conducting research on applications of quantum computing with Qedma’s partners, including implementing and running proof-of-concept demonstrations of these applications on real quantum hardware.

About you:

  • PhD in quantum computing, physics, computer science, mathematics, or a related field; or MSc with relevant experience.
  • Strong programming skills, preferably in Python.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following fields is a strong plus: quantum algorithms research, materials science, quantum chemistry, theoretical condensed matter physics, classical optimization problems, theoretical atomic molecular and optical physics, quantum information theory, machine learning, and AI.
  • Excellent technical and scientific communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
